4. The Stalker Materializes

“We have got to stop meeting like this.”

I was sitting by his side in the ambulance, and he was holding my hand, while the paramedics gave him some oxygen and monitored his vitals.

“Laura, this is not my idea of a first date, and I think that we can do a lot better than this.”

The same paramedic that worked on me said, ”Frank, I must insist that you go back to the hospital for some tests.”

“No, I’m fine.”

“Okay, but don’t say I didn't warn you, as you have swallowed a lot of water, and it's a wonder that you don't have brain damage from lack of oxygen.”

“Me have brain damage? That not possible!”

I hit him on the arm and no matter how much I wanted him to go get checked out, there was a bigger part of me that wanted him to stick around.

“Hey, I’m just the medical professional, what do I know.”

Pulling off his oxygen mask, Frank put his hand around my neck, and pulled me down for a kiss that took my breath away. Our tongues moved around each other's, and he was touching nerve endings in my mouth that was causing my panties to stick to my skin.

“I’m so glad you two are alright,” Jacqueline was standing there all concerned, but I had to wonder how she knew I was here and what had happened.

“How did you know what happened?”

“Oh, Andrew told me and we went racing off after you.”

Andrew came rushing over and put his hands around me, holding me tight and not letting go. This was the kid that was always there for me and stood by my side through thick and thin. He let me go and grabbed Frank and hugged him too, but his hands were on his ass and squeezing it in his grip.

Frank’s eyes bulged and his face reflected his total confusion.

“Get away from him,” I commanded.

Andrew reacted with speed that I didn't know he possessed, and had grabbed a surgical knife from the ambulance, holding it against Frank’s throat and backing away from the scene.

“You ignored me, Laura, and now I can’t live without him.”

“You did all of this and it wasn’t me that you were after at all. That letter was meant for Frank and not me.”

“That’s right, I saw how you have looked at him, and I dropped that letter in your tent, and was unable to get back to it before you found it. He was supposed to be mine, but he had only eyes for you, so I had to take you out of the equation. That way he would see me as a confidant and have my shoulder to cry on. When I saw you kiss him and how he opened up to you on the beach, I knew that he was yours…and if I couldn't have him, then I sure wasn’t going to let a fat wench like you have the honors.”
